HOW WE WORK

Smartourism promotes the ASR Model, a framework based on the goal of any destination management strategy: ATTRACTING the best-value tourists, increasing their length of STAY, making them RETURN and generating a positive word-of-mouth:

  • Attracting tourists doesn’t simply mean increasing the volume of arrivals: a good marketing strategy is based on the identification of the markets generating the best socio-economic returns for the destination, coupled with the selection of the most cost-effective channels to reach them.
  • By providing online and offline information, original contents, experiential and bespoke tourist products, the strategy aims at increasing the visitors’ length of stay.
  • There is no better ambassador for a destination than a satisfied visitor. The level of satisfaction is positively correlated with both the likelihood of return and the word of mouth generated.

A preliminary analysis of the destination is key to a successfull strategic plan. It identifies:

  • strategic territorial assets and local resources
  • the stakeholders’ needs
  • ongoing projects and existing investments
  • the clients’ objectives and expectations

This approach is designed to promote the territorial uniqueness in a cost-efficient and result-driven way. On the one hand, the valorisation of the identitary features of the territory is ensured by mapping all the existing tourist and cultural assets; on the other hand, clearly defining  the destination management objectives and the synergies with existing investments allows for an optimisation of the resources allocated to destination marketing.
