The City of London Corporation funded a 5-year programme to test the use of new digital technologies in improving efficiency when delivering public services. The programme, managed by the “Delivery Innovation Team” (DIT) aimed at reducing public sector costs and increasing the reach of residents by using ICTs. Elisa Conti, as part of Bone Wells Urbecon’s team, managed two economic and social impact projects to evaluate the beenfits generated by the DIT work. The project involved surveying residents, beneficiaries and a series of interviews and focus-groups with stakeholders. Results from the evaluation projects contributed to the contents of the the “Effective Service Delivery” toolkit – a series of methodologies and guidelines to efficiently manage public funding and measure the returns on investment.
